Operation Prometheus was the code name for the general offensive of the Mesan Alignment's forces, to be implemented some time after Operation Oyster Bay hit the Manticoran Alliance. Planned for centuries, it was supposed to crush the Alignment's enemies and bring about the rise of the Renaissance Factor, a new society where each individual's place was to be decided by his or her genetic "value".
