The Master Sword is an item used in the Legend of Zelda Series. It first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, where Link would be able to collect it after getting three pendants scattered throughout Hyrule to prove that he is the Hero of Legend. It would later appear in mostly every Legend of Zelda game after it, most recently The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. The Master Sword is the bane of evil and only those pure of heart may wield it to defeat the evil that is Ganondorf.
