Acting-Lieutenant, abbreviated ALT, is an officer rank in the Precursor Navy. Naval Officers are often promoted to this rank fairly quickly, with it usually being within three to four months of active service as a Naval Lieutenant. They share the same pay grade as a Naval Lieutenant. Their analog in the ground forces is the rank Acting-Lieutenant, which the share the same name. If the need arises, officers of this rank may take control of a Primary Lieutenant's unit, if that Primary Lieutenant is dead.
