The Shield is a shield from The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. It can be purchased from the Item Shop for 50 Rupees. It can be held in front of Link by pressing R and will defend him from non-magic projectiles. Although it isn't necessary to beat the game, it is very helpful, especially in the Eastern Palace due to the numerous arrow traps found within. Should Link acquire the Hylian Shield, it will replace the Shield in Link's inventory. Link must be wary as if a Like-Like sucks up Link's body, it will eat his shield causing him to buy a shield again. While the Like-Like sucks his body, the player (if they look closely) will notice that it will cause Link to have his whole body inside.
