Going Public is Newsboys' fifth studio album, released in 1994, and the first big success. It includes the giant hit Shine, and the lesser hit Spirit Thing. It was recognized as one of the 100 Greatest Albums in Christian Music by CCM Magazine. The album won two 1995 Dove Awards, Rock Album of the Year and Rock Recorded Song of the Year (Shine). It was nominated for the 1994 Grammy Award for Best Rock Gospel Album, but didn't win. Shine was nominated for a 1995 Dove Award for Short Form Music Video of the Year, but didn't win. It has been certified Gold by the RIAA.
