Cecrops II was the son of King Pandion I of Athens. He succeeded his elder brother Erectheus as king. However, he was removed from power by his nephew Metion, who seized the throne. When Metion died, he was succeeded by Cecrops' son, Pandion II. Pandion II was later exiled by Metion's sons, but was restored by his own sons; Aegeus, Lycus and Nisos.
