Hwurzahk was a Massassi warrior of the Golden Empire. Born on Keliso in 104 ABY, Hwurzahk was trained as a warrior and soldier by his Massassi family and community. He formally enrolled in the 9th Massassi Cohort at the age of fifteen in 119 ABY. He saw action at the First Battle of Shel Du, then went on to serve during the Conquest of the Chiss Ascendancy. By now an officer, Hwurzahk helped to lead the 9th during the Ssi-ruuvi Incursion and the end of the Vagaari War. One week after the battle, Prime Legate Sorrik promoted Hwurzahk to colonel and gave him permanent command of the 14th.
