Duke Chanward was a male aristocrat and a member of the Noble Court of the Anoat sector. At some point during the Iron Blockade, his personal bodyguard was assassinated, and suspicion fell on another member of the duke's staff. The Smuggler, a rising star of the Anoat sector then provided Chanward with a temporary replacement. At some other point, the duke designed a bold plan to capture an Imperial communications station and send a message to the people. In order to make that mission a success, Chanward again sollicited help from the Smuggler.
