A Flying monkey like creature was seen by Lt. Colonel John Sheppard's team on a planet they were surveying to become Atlantis's Alpha Site. According to Teyla Emmagan it may have been leaping instead of flying and according to Dr. Rodney McKay it made some sort of shrieking noise and may have also had a beak, although Sheppard disputes that saying it did not have a beak.
