Alexander Wright (died 23 July 1859) was an engineer and local politician. Wright was a gas engineer, with a business manufacturing apparatus for gas production and lighting at Millbank Street, Westminster. He was also engineer to the Western Gas Light Company. From 1855-1859 Wright was a member of the Metropolitan Board of Works representing Westminster District Board of Works. He died at his home in Kensal Green in July 1859 and was buried in West Norwood Cemetery. Some information here [1]
