Wedgeback was a male stoat in Slagar the Cruel's gang. He kept a small dagger tucked into the back of his belt. When he tripped while hassling the slaves, he dropped the dagger and Tess Churchmouse picked it up. The captured young ones of Redwall Abbey used it to pick the locks on their manacles in an unsuccessful escape attempt. Wedgeback was later executed by Slagar for his mishap, who pushed him off the top of the plateau.
