HMS Mars was a Triumph-class battlecruiser of the Royal Manticoran Navy. In the late 1520s PD, the Mars and her sister ships were kept in orbit of the planet Manticore, overseen by a small caretaker crew. In 1530 PD, the ship was decommissioned and its hull cut into two pieces, which were to be recommissioned as two experimental sloops for the Manticoran Patrol and Rescue Service; the front was turned into HMS Phobos, while the aft, with the hyperdrive, became HMS Deimos.
