From Klesk's backstory and comments, Klesk appears to have been once a member of an alien race called the Chitinid that existed in a Hive Mind. From his comments, he seems to be either on the verge of an evolutionary breakthrough (such as spawning a whole new subspecies) or some kind of evolution. He seems to have more than one personality, and refers to normal creatures as 'single brainers'
