Peter Tranter (died 1988) was the former boyfriend of Lisa "Duffy" Duffin. He dated Duffy in 1987 but they split around the time that she discovered that he was HIV positive. She found out that she was clear, but he continued to pester her and even turned up drunk in the department causing a commotion. The following year, his sister Jill visited the ED to tell Duffy that Peter had died after driving his car into a river.
