In the 1950s and 60s, the Strategic Air Command constructed a number of bunkers for Nike antiaircraft missiles in rural regions throughout the country, one of them in Saugus, California. After the facilities were abandoned, twenty-seven of them were repurposed as the foundations for the Mobile Underground Detention and Detainment prison network. (Findings at CTU)
