Zia Rashid is a magician of The House of Life, Carter Kane's girlfriend and a character from the Kane Chronicle series. Zia's first appearance was in The Red Pyramid where she along with Michael Desjardins followed Julius Kane along with his children Carter and Sadie to The British Museum where she became the host of the Egyptian river goddess Nephthys. She was then hidden away and replaced by a shabati. In the second book The Throne of Fire, Carter found the real Zia and she at first disliked him because he was a Kane (as the Kane family were seen as traitors to The House of Life) but eventually befriended him and Sadie. In the end of the final book, The Serpent's Shadow, after helping in defeating Apophis, Zia became Carter's girlfriend.
