Rip Scherer is the Quarterback Coach (sport) for the NFL's Carolina Panthers. He previously served as quarterbacks coach/assistant head coach for the Cleveland Browns, Offensive coordinator for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, the offensive coordinator for the Kansas Jayhawks, the head coach of the Memphis Tigers, the head coach of the James Madison Dukes, the offensive coordinator of the Arizona Wildcats, the offensive coordinator of the Alabama Crimson Tide, the quarterbacks coach/offensive coordinator of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, the quarterbacks coach of the Virginia Cavaliers, the running backs coach of the Hawaii Warriors, and the quarterbacks coach of the NC State Wolfpack. He started his coaching profession at Penn State in 1974.
