Obelisk squadron was an elite TIE fighter unit serving in the Galactic Civil War. It was formed just after the Battle of Yavin, to combat the increased Rebel fighter activity that Imperial Strategists predicted. They were considered one of the best squadrons in the Empire, besting even Rogue Squadron at Cato Neimodia. However, in 4 ABY, Darth Vader assigned Obelisk Squadron to Sullust to combat a Rebel task force seeking to lure the Empire away from Endor.
