The UCMD1SK features a basswood body covered in a Silver Peacock patterned fabric bolted to a maple neck with a reverse headstock and a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with sharktooth position markers. Components include a DiMarzio Super Distortion humbucking pickup at the bridge and DiMarzio VS-1 single coil pickups in the middle and neck positions, an Edge double locking tremolo bridge, a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines. The UCMD1SK was discontinued after 1991 along with the rest of the Metal Design series.
