Xtreme Mode (修羅モード, Shura Mode) is a gameplay mode introduced in Dynasty Warriors 4: Xtreme Legends. The goal is to win as many battles as possible without quitting or dying. The player is given 3 different areas to choose from, each one with its own set of missions and rewards. Selecting an area will send the player to a shop where they can spend gold on items, characters, and troops before heading out for combat. Missions typically come in the form of small-scale battles that last for 15 minutes. Defeating enemies or completing various objectives earns the player rank points which determine the amount of gold acquired when multiplied with the area's conversion rate.
