Commander is a commissioned officer rank of the UNSC Navy, equal in rank to Lieutenant Colonel in the UNSC Marine Corps, UNSC Air Force, and UNSC Army. Commanders typically serve as the Executive Officer (XO) (second-in-command) of a UNSC Warship; however, they may also command their own UNSC Warship.
