Emily Boll was co-administrator of the Pern colony at Landing, with Paul Benden. She had formerly been the governor of Tau Ceti during the Nathi War, and had saved her world from certain doom. When Thread began falling, she and Paul Benden centralized the colony at Fort Hold, and became, in effect, Lord and Lady Holder. She died during the Fever Year Southern Boll Hold is named after her.
