Verell is a Ilanic scientist that the crew rescues in the episode "Back and Back and Back to the Future". It turns out that Verell has successfully captured a piece of a black hole that he attempts to control with a containment field. The goal is to use it as a weapon in the war against the Scorvians. He manages to convince D'Argo to do anything he wishes him to do.
