Tanis is a location of the Great Derelict at Tanis, presumably of Progenitor origin. Tanis was the area of space where the 2nd mothership, the Pride of Hiigara, was built at Tanis Station. The under-construction mothership was guarded by Chimera Station. In the age of the Progenitors this probably also served as a Super-fortress/Shipyard, Tanis may of had a part in the construction of the Progenitor Mothership as well as several other ships.
