Zack can join three of the fan clubs in Chapter 3, but the Sephiroth fan club cannot be joined until Chapter 6. The clubs serve no practical purpose in gameplay, with one exception—players can unlock Mission 2-1-2 by speaking to the head of the Study Group fan club in Chapter 4.
