The Shroom is a recurring Monster class within the Disgaea series. They are fiendish fungi that grow in various places and are known for saying "Gi" at least once in a sentence. The Shroom were originally prominent monsters in earlier Nippon Ichi games such as Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure and La Pucelle: Tactics. They were somewhat considered Nippon Ichi's mascot, but the even more popular Prinny pushed the Shroom aside.
