* The first was in her first appearance. After having outrun the gremlins and fought her way past Albert with both hands tied behind her, he recovers, finishes tying her up and carries her back down to the very place she just came from.
* The second was in Fair Harvest, where she came within an inch of being rescued. Poor girl.
* Defeat by Modesty: Subverted. At first, she just stands there fighting back tears, but then works up the resolve to break loose and run for it.
* Griping About Gremlins: Valerin has a lot of reason to gripe about gremlins.
* Lady of War: Another reason this has to be a particularly harrowing experience for her.
* Naked Freak-Out
* Nipple-and-Dimed: Yeeeup.
* Sanity Slippage: It certainly seems to be coming into play...
* Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Shortly after being initially stripped, she manages to get away from her gremlin assailants and tries to flee the cellar. Unfortunately, it turns out the inkeeper is in on it. She is promptly gagged and carried back down into the cellar.
* Shameful Strip: What the gremlins do to her after tying her up.
* The Woobie: It's difficult not to feel for her after a while.
* The Worf Effect: She starts off as a competent and tough warrior maiden, but quickly becomes overwhelmed and at the mercy of her attackers.
* You Can Leave Your Hat On: Last seen only wearing her boots.
