Charles Tucker III was assigned here, as well, as a member of the center's engineering staff. (ENT: "First Flight") The name of this facility, referencing warp drive inventor Zefram Cochrane, came from the Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 2, p. 513) . The reference work noted the name came from signage on the set. In the final draft script of "First Flight", the facility was identified as the NX-Launch Complex. The center's location is in dispute. It is either located in San Francisco (the final draft script) or in Mill Valley (Star Trek Encyclopedia, 4th ed., vol. 2, pp. 42 & 92).
