| Desirability | - A potion of uselessness can actually be extremely desirable in some cases — as if used correctly, it can be practically 'converted' into an artifact.
If thrown on D:49 in such a way that the PC is pushed forward or back, a random artifact that has not already been generated for the current PC will appear. The artifact is chosen completely at random each time, rather than being specific to attributes of the PC; this in itself gives the potion a very varying degree of desirability, as once used it can generate anything from Preserver or Bracers of war to the terrible Black tome of Alsophocus.
The reward for ingenuity is given only once — thus throwing more than one potion of uselessness on D:49 is typically pointless .
