  • Alberto von Gourmand drives a Porsche 959 sports car. Because Video System did not have a license to use Porsche's trademark, the car is referred to as the "Borsche 969." A real Porsche 969 did exist, but only as a concept car.
  • The Porsche 959 is a mid-engined supercar developed by Porsche from 1986 to 1989. Only 337 units were produced. It was briefly the world's fastest production car although this title was swiftly claimed by the Ferrari F40. It used many high-tech components such as an electronic all-wheel drive system as it was designed to compete in Group B rallying. The road-racing variant of the 959 - the 961 - competed and was successful in the Paris-Dakar Rally as well as in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
