  • Emperor penguins are a species of marine flightless bird found in and around Antarctica and is the largest species of all living penguins and is the most known. From the Zoo Tycoon website: The emperor penguin is one of only two penguin species that live on the frozen Antarctic continent. Penguins are flightless seabirds that are skilled swimmers, with streamlined, barrel-like bodies that reduce drag in the water. Their wings are thin, stiff flippers that provide propulsion while swimming. Unlike other birds, which have hollow bones, penguin bones are solid so they can remain submerged underwater. Penguins come ashore to breed, but they are actually marine animals that spend as much as 80 percent of their lives underwater.
  • In winter 2008, Habbo released a total of 26 penguins and each day you received a new one from 12/1/08-12/26/08 (providing your e-mail was activated). They are all untradable except for the Penguin Gift, in which you would receive for collecting all 26. You can also recycle penguins with the Ecotron.
  • The Emperor Penguin is a limited edition animal, released during the Earth Day Event. The Event tagline mention Market items from every continent. This animal is the representative of Antarctica. Placed on farm it needs three days to grow. And you can Collect ice cubes and gain . Placed in Zoo or Winter Animal Pen at harvest you have the chance to find two Mystery Baby, one you can share with your neighbors and one to keep. The Mystery Babies are baby animals which only can grow up into their own fully grown parents. In this case a Emperor Penguin.
  • The Emperor Penguin (Aptenodytes forsteri) is the tallest and heaviest of all living penguin species and is endemic to Antarctica. The male and female are similar in plumage and size, reaching 122 cm (48 in) in height and weighing anywhere from 22–37 kg (48–82 lb). The dorsal parts are black and sharply delineated from the white belly, pale-yellow breast and bright-yellow ear patches. Like all penguins, it is flightless, with a streamlined body and wings stiffened and flattened into flippers for a marine lifestyle.

The male and female are similar in plumage and size, reaching 122 cm in height and weighing anywhere from 22–37 kg (48–82 lb). The dorsal parts are black and sharply delineated from the white belly, pale-yellow breast and bright-green ear patches. Fish form the bulk of its diet, which can include crustaceans, such as krill, and cephalopods, such as squid and Luke, the fish. In hunting, the species can remain submerged up to 18 minutes, diving to a depth of 535 m (1,755 ft). It has several adaptations to facilitate this, including an unusually structured haemoglobin to allow it to function at low oxygen levels, solid bones to reduce barotrauma, and the ability to reduce its metabolism and shut down non-essential organ functions. The Emperor Penguin is perhaps best known for the sequence of journeys adults make each year in order to mate and to feed their offspring. The only penguin species that breeds during the Antarctic winter, it treks 50–120 km (31–75 mi) over the ice to breeding colonies which may include thousands of individuals. The female lays a single egg, which is incubated by the male while the female returns to the sea to forage; parents subsequently take turns foraging at sea and caring for their chick in the colony. The lifespan is typically 20 years in the wild, although observations suggest that some individuals may live to 50 years of age.
