Text | - "I have never trusted Melisandre, or her red god."
- "R'hllor is the Lord of Light. This sacrifice will bring Stannis victory."
- Maester Lucas reads a letter from Alvyn sent by raven. "I have been misled. R'hllor is no Lord of Light. He is a god of darkness and death."
- "Once he burns his only child for R'hllor, I don't imagine he'll change his mind," Maester Lucas says bitterly. "The red woman doomed us all."
- Maester Lucas turns white as he reads. "M-melisandre burned Stannis's daughter alive to bring the sun. Her father did nothing to stop it."
- The maester shakes his head. "He doesn't say, my [lord/lady]." He shows you the letter. "See how his hand shook while he wrote. It must have just happened."
- "Alvyn was devoted to the Lord of the Light. What happened?"
- "What will Alvyn do now? He's still with Stannis's army, right?"
- "Send word that Alvyn should return home. He need not stay with Stannis now."
- "What of the king? Is Stannis still dedicated to the Lord of Light?"
