Jean Blanke succeeded Farron as deputy leader of the party. He ran a high profile in parliament once elected leader, even leading his party into their first position of power in a coalition. He was noted for some of his loud and even somewhat aggressive speeches, notably in retaliation to the Hutori National Party. He was also noted for his hostility towards Prime Minister Janice Parker. However in the 3893 elections, Choice made large losses. Following this Farron resigned immediately and the party was given a minor rebranding by new leader Patrick Dale. Farron brought out the most socialist and populist sides of the party, with many analysts noting him as the furthest left of the party leaders during the 3893 elections which among strong Choice supporters resonated well but did not with the majority of the electorate due to large disbeliefs that his left policies could effectively run the country.
