| abstract | - Ross Davie has more than 30 years experience in the media and broadcasting. He is best known for Brisbane radio, working on the 1116AM 4BC (News/Talk) breakfast show for many years in various roles. He started his career working in Sydney radio, with 2UW in sales the 80's. From there he went to 4BC as producer and very quickly became co-presenter with Wayne Roberts. He was on breakfast radio from 1982-1991 and was best known for character voices and comedic input. At the time it was amongst the most listened to radio stations and it is still the only commercial talk back station in Brisbane. Ross Davie is a seven-time Goldie Award winner for writing and voice work, Raward (now ACRA) winner in 1998 and finalist on numerous occasions. In 1991 Davie enjoyed a short period on Sydney's most popular station, 2UE, Sydney 954am talkback radio. Ross returned to Brisbane, producing breakfast radio on 4BC in the mid 1990s and has since 1996 headed his own successful advertising agency, Ross Davie Advertising. He returned to broadcasting in 2001 and presented again in the breakfast time-slot. He co-starred with John Miller until 2005 and with Peter Dick until 2008. Ross Davie is considered as more of an entertainer than a journalist, however the talk format often involves discussion of news and politics. In 2008, Davie made the decision to focus full time on his advertising company, which has grown considerably in just a few short years. Peter Dick moved to other time-slots and their position in the 4BC breakfast time-slot was replaced by Jamie Dunn, who stayed until being let go in 2010. Davie's focus these days is on his business and family of 5 children. His eldest son, Mark, has also been heavily involved with Ross Davie Advertising.
