  • Paul Farrell (born 21st September 1893 in Dublin, died 12th June 1975 in Manchester) appeared in Coronation Street in May 1966 as drunken tramp Mr. O'Flaherty. In a long career which went back to the 1930s, he appeared in many film and television roles including early pre-war plays from Alexandra Palace such as St. Simeon Stylites and Parnell. Later television roles include Dixon of Dock Green, Emergency-Ward 10, No Hiding Place, Never Mind the Quality, Feel the Width, The Wednesday Play, Z Cars, Armchair Theatre and Play for Today.

He appeared in many films but is best remembered as the Tramp who is murdered in A Clockwork Orange. His radio work also goes back to the 1930s with plays such as The Moon in The Yellow River and Brumaire.
