  • Tarkheena
rdfs:comment
  • In the nobility of Calormen, Tarkheena was a high female title. Tarkaans and Tarkheenas made up the nobility of Calormen, and those who were less important were required to behave obsequiously toward them, though they in turn found it necessary to display obsequiousness before the Tisroc. Most Tarkaans and Tarkheenas were descended from the second sons of Tisrocs, although the Tisroc also had the power to bestow the title to anyone. As relatives of the Tisroc (who was, according to Calormene tradition, descended in a direct line from Tash), Tarkaans and Tarkheenas considered themselves descendants of the god Tash.
