On stardate 48467.3, it was under the command of Gul Toran of the Sixth Order. In 2371, as the USS Defiant, under the command of Lieutenant Thomas Riker, entered into Cardassian space, Maquis starships of Squadron Baker launched a diversionary strike against this outpost. (DS9: "Defiant") According to Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 46) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), Outpost 61 was located in the Alpha Quadrant.
