  • Star Trek: Kirk vs Picard (or "KvP") was an online fan fiction screenwriting contest at FanLib.com, and was officially sponsored by CBS Interactive. Writer-Producer Andre Bormanis and actors George Takei and Wil Wheaton participated in the event, which took place from June 13 to July 20, 2007. The contest consisted of four one-week rounds in which writers submitted an act based on Bormanis' "scene missions." Readers and other writers commented and rated the submissions, and four were chosen in each round as finalists to be voted on by the public. The winning submission for each week was made part of the final Kirk vs Picard script, and the winning writers each received an Apple MacBook and a gift certificate for a writing store. One reviewer and one random participant also received prizes each week. At the end of the contest, one of the weekly winners was chosen at random to receive the grand prize of a trip to the Star Trek Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton.
