| Synopsis | - Peter, dressed as the Scarlet Spider, is in the Daily Bugle late at night looking up the Jackal to see what he's planning. All he finds are old articles of the deaths of Gwen Stacy and Miles Warren, and he leaves just before Phil Urich, Ben Urich's nephew, comes inside. Ben Reilly meanwhile, who has taken Peter's place in jail after the false accusation of a murder, realizes that he has been nothing but a burden to the Parkers.
Peter arrives at the house of Warren Miles, another Jackal clone. He sneaks inside and sees Gwen Stacy's clone, alive and well. When he pulls his mask off, she swings the broom she's holding at him, and then Warren Miles gets him with a taser and leaves him there while he and the Gwen clone drive away. Gwen tells Warren Miles that Peter is the face of all her nightmares. They do not know that there is a spider tracer on their car as they advance towards New Jersey.
On Park Avenue, Mary Jane asks Felicia Hardy, aka the Black Cat, to find Peter. Warren recalls how his wife and kids died in a car accident, and that his only reason to live was when he met Gwen. He blamed Spider-Man and Norman Osborn for Gwen and her dad's death, and knew all along that he himself was not the original Miles Warren at all. Peter regains his consciousness and pursues the pair, while a brand-new Green Goblin follows secretly from behind. As Peter approaches the car, it speeds up, only to be hit by a gas grenade from the Green Goblin, who then snatches the Gwen clone from the car and lifts her on top of the bridge they are at. The bridge happens to be the George Washington Bridge, where the original Gwen Stacy died.
Warren Miles starts shooting at the Green Goblin while standing on his car, which is about to tip into the water. The Gwen clone is distracted by this, loses her balance, and falls. This time, Peter swings underneath the bridge and swoops her into his arms as he lands. Warren Miles falls into the water with the car, but when Peter goes to retrieve it, his clone has already degenerated. The Green Goblin, aka Phil Urich, goes home and decides that before he plays the hero, he still has to learn more about power and responsibility. The Gwen clone has also escaped, and releases that she is neither Gwen or Joyce Delaney, and that she is indeed just a clone.
