| abstract | - The Oni Kind (鬼種, Kishu?) are a Phantasmal Race symbolized by inferno and scorching heat. They declined as human civilization advanced, and are now all but extinct. In Colorful Moon Tsukihime, Oni are said to exist in the following varieties:
* Those who were from the start referred to as Oni, and fundamentally distinct from humans.
* Those humans who by way of aberration (変異, hen'i?) become as Oni. Due to the Oni being referenced as "Full-blooded Ma" (生粋の魔, kissui no ma?) in Tsukihime,, and otherwise possessed of flesh bodies, the English fandom has on occasion erroneously conflated Oni Kind as a variety of Enfleshed Demon (受肉した悪魔, Juniku-shita akuma?, lit. "Incarnated Demon").
