abstract
  • A dark and macabre application of the Hydrification Technique that was forbidden within the Hōzuki clan upon discovery, where the clan's ability to liquefy their body at will is used to undergo hemofication - that is, the transformation into blood. Whereas it has been shown during the series that the Hōzuki's jutsu can turn the body into other substances than merely water, this transmogrification is unique in the aspect that it enlarges all assets of the original technique while eliminating nearly all downsides. The ability to modify one's body parts is perhaps the one that is most apparent. With each usage, the user can rejuvenate and accommodate their body structure to their liking - essentially granting them both eternal youth and immortality for as long as they are able to perform the technique. Seigetsu Hōzuki has been using this technique for over 40 years in order to keep his appearance as a 14-year old. In addition, the user can re-attach any body part or repel any kind of poison or disease through their liquid state. The downside to this technique, and also the cause for it to be branded as forbidden, is that the blood constantly has to be renewed. This requirement will spawn as an unquenchable appetite within the user's mind once they have fulfilled it once. This craving for human blood will essentially deform anyone who acquires this technique into a cannibalistic killer, making it quite obvious why it was so swiftly prohibited. However, despite it being necessary for the technique to be utilized, the consummation of blood also grants additional advantages. The user gains the ability to perfectly mimic the appearance of everyone's blood they drink, down to their chakra signature, allowing them to disguise themselves as their victims and infiltrate their homes. Also, due to the close intertwinement of the blood and chakra circulatory system, every drop of bordeaux adds to the user's might, making them grow stronger the longer their immortality lasts. Despite the technique's main use being support, the blood can be weaponized in the same way other Hōzuki use the water they transform in, although the power output is significantly superior due to the large amount of chakra resident within the blood.
