  • On Monday, nearly 4 weeks after the May 16th primary, the county finally certified the election results. Traditionally the results are certified 20 days after the election. This year the confusion was caused by a couple of hotly contested races that delayed the certification process. League-endorsed candidate Ed Gainey was in one of these close races. Trailing by only 93 votes with many discrepancies still unanswered, Gainey unfortunately was unable to fund a costly recount and legal battle. The official results still aren't posted on the county website but you can keep checking at .
