  • Actor Paul Barnhill (born in Knutsford, Cheshire) appeared on Coronation Street as PC Mullen of the Cumbrian Constabulary in February 2010, speaking to Gail McIntyre and her son David Platt during inquiries into the theft of a motorboat moored up at Lake Windermere. He attended Knutsford High School and frequently appeared in the town's Little Theatre productions as a youngster before moving to Salford at the age of sixteen to join Salford College. He then went to London to train at the East 15 acting School. He graduated in 1992 and started his career. He made his London debut in 1994 playing the comedy role of Frosh in Die Fledermaus at Sadler's Wells,which he recorded at Abbey Road. He has worked for over twenty years in theatre, television, radio and film, toured extensively in the UK and abroad, and worked with many different companies including the Royal Shakespeare Company, Headlong and Northern Broadsides. He has also co-written many comedies for BBC Radio 4 and is Artistic Director of his own North West based company "Goofus". His other credits include appearances in Brookside, Peak Practice, Anorak of Fire, The Fabulous Bagel Boys, Rescue Me, Holby City, The Afternoon Play, Emmerdale, Foyles War and as Gus Flagstone in Topsy Turvy directed by Mike Leigh.
