  • A group of ex-cons form a band called the Jail Jivers. Their music is a success, so they go on tour, stopping in several small towns. Robberies in those towns indicate the band is still resorting to crime, so they are arrested. Johnny Quick believes the Jail Jivers are innocent. He discovers that Cracker Cole and his gang have been following the Jivers from town to town and are responsible for the robberies. Johnny captures Cole and his men and clears the Jivers of the crimes.
  • Green Arrow and Speedy hunt down Bronco Bates and his gang. A series of miscues lead Speedy to believe that Green Arrow has passed his prime. When he voices his concern to Green Arrow, they decide to hold a contest for three archers to determine Green Arrow's successor. Three candidates are chose and given trial missions with Speedy. The candidates are given different colored uniforms, becoming Red Arrow, White Arrow, and Blue Arrow. Each archer impresses Speedy and helps him capture the crooks. After Bates is apprehended, Speedy exposes Green Arrow as being in disguise as the three other archers. Green Arrow used the hoax to prove to Speedy that he really hadn't lost a step.
