The glory of Doriath waxed until the Nauglamir (with its Silmaril) came to Dior upon the deaths of Beren and Luthien. The sons of Feanor assaulted the stronghold, determined to gain the jewel. Elured was abandoned in the woods with his brother Elurin by the servants of Celegorm. Neither child was seen again
- Eluréd (Sindarin: Erbe?) war ein Halbelb und der älteste Sohn von Dior und Nimloth. Eluréd lebte von 501 bis 509 Erstes Zeitalter und hatte einen jüngeren Zwillingsbruder namens Elurín, sowie eine Schwester die Elwing hieß. Geboren wurden die drei Kinder in Lanthir Lamath. Nachdem König Thingol in Doriath von Zwergen ermordet wurde, bestieg Eluréds Vater Dior, Thingols Erbe, den Thron. Die Familie zog nach Menegroth, in die „Tausend Grotten" und lebte fortan dort. Als Beren und Lúthien starben, kam der Silmaril in den Besitz Diors. Die Söhne Feanors erfuhren von dem Silmaril und an ihren Eid gedenkend, griffen sie Doriath an.
