  • Immunity refers to a monster or player character being completely impervious to damage of one or more types, or to a specific Crowd Control effect. All attacks that use the specified damage type or apply the effect listed are resolved as normal, with normal chances to hit, but even if they reach the target, they may not affect the target in any way. Unlike Absorption, Immunity to damage also makes the target immune to all secondary effects of the attack prevented, and very often, to Crowd Control effects in general.

Some creatures are known to be immune to: * Death Damage * Drown Damage * Drunkenness * Earth Damage * Energy Damage * Fire Damage * Holy Damage * Ice Damage * Invisibility * Life Drain * Paralysis * Physical Damage This means that, for example, if a creature is immune to Fire, it will not be damaged by any attacks from a Wand of Inferno, Great Fireball rune, or any other attack that causes fire damage.

  • Characters can be immune to most of the negative effects. For example, a character with disease immunity will almost never need fear the negative effects of disease. This is only "almost" though, as there are some unusual cases in which immunities can fail. • Immunity was the natural ability of an organism's immune system to fight off infections and diseases. The children under the age of four of five of a group of Human colonists, later known as Novans, were able to build up an immunity against the radioactive debris of an asteroid. Players can also experience an artificial immunity to certain types of damage, usually be wearing certain Rings or Amulets and Necklaces. However, this immunity is not permanent. In most cases, the immunity-giving items have charges, which decrease whenever you are attacked with the type of damage they make immune from.

However, these Talents can be overwritten in the creature spawn scripts or level adjustment scripts, so not all creatures encountered will have the immunity Talent(s) listed below (list based on the creature templates): * Abomination: Nature. * Arcane Horror: Cold and Nature. * Ash Wraith: Fire. * Corpse: Nature. * Golem type enemies: Nature. * Dragon type enemies (excluding High Dragons): Fire. * Drake: Fire. * Rage Demon: Fire. * Revenant: Cold and Nature. * Skeletons: Nature. * Undead type enemies: Nature. * Witherfang: Cold. Note that Cold resistance does not grant immunity to freezing effects. This makes Cone of Cold a worthwhile spell to use even on enemies like Revenants and Arcane Horrors, who are immune to the damage effects.

  • Immunity inflicts Magic Attack to an enemy and heals a percentage of Magic Damage of all allies within 20 meters around the target.
  • Immunity doesn't mean you are immune to a certain skill. Immunity is simply a chance that you will not be attacked. The chance is increased by using a stronger weapon.
  • Characters can be immune to most of the negative effects. For example, a character with disease immunity will almost never need fear the negative effects of disease. This is only "almost" though, as there are some unusual cases in which immunities can fail. These range from the devious (a script can often find ways around immunities, such as implosion ignoring immunity to death magic) to the accidental (for example, a bug causes long-term spells to be treated as the last spell cast with regards to immunity by spell level). A character can have immunity to damage as well. The two types of damage immunity effects are increase and decrease. ("Decrease" is also known as vulnerability.) These immunities are specified as a percentage of damage, and the percentages are capped at 100%. If a character has multiple immunities against the same element they are added together, any additional immunity above 100% has no effect. This percentage is multiplied by the damage received to obtain the amount subtracted from (for immunity) or added to (for vulnerability) the damage amount. As long as the net immunity is above zero, there is a minimum of 1 point subtracted (absorbed). Examples: "Fire 90% Damage Immunity - Increase" will cause 10 points of fire damage to be reduced by 10x90% = 9 damage, resulting in only 1 point of damage actually being inflicted. "Cold 100% Damage Immunity - Decrease" will cause 10 points of cold damage to be increased by 10x100% = 10 damage, resulting in 20 points of damage actually being inflicted. "Piercing 75% Damage Immunity - Increase" combined with "Piercing 50% Damage immunity - Increase" would be added together 75%+50% = 125% immunity to piercing damage, resulting in no piercing damage being inflicted (100 piercing damage would inflict 0 hit point loss). "Fire 50% Damage Immunity - Increase" Combined with "Fire 50% Damage Immunity - Decrease" would be added together 50%-50% = 0% immunity to fire damage, resulting in normal fire damage being inflicted (100 fire damage would inflict 100 hit point loss). Damage immunity is applied before damage resistance and damage reduction.
  • Immunity is the status of a person or entity that places it beyond the law and makes it free from legal obligations, such as liability for torts or damages or prosecution under criminal law.
  • Immunity refers to a creature's resistance to some type of damage or ability. • Immunity is the ability that grants the possessor immunity from most or any kind of powers (including their own), spells, and potions (except for a Power Stripping Potion). The being with immunity will absolutely not be affected by the spells, potions and powers they are immune to. Several upper-level demons possess this power, although they are usually only immune to the powers of witches. They can, if it's to their own advantage, allow themselves to be susceptible to witches magic. When Immunity comes from a collective power, such as the Triad, their Immunity can be diminished by weakening the collective as a whole. Avatars, due existing outside of Space and Time, are insusceptible to time and reality alterations, thus aware of any changes that occur within timelines.
  • A character can gain immunity against certain effects, including poison, disease, damage, sneak attacks, critical hits, spells, and more. Some immunities only grant partial protection where others are complete.

A creature immune to a condition|condition or another effect (such as being dazed), is not affected by the stated effect. Otherwise, being immune to one part of a power doesn't make a creature immune to other parts of it; a creature immune to thunder hit by a power dealing thunder damage and pushing the creature, will still get pushed.[RC:225]
