  • Frederick John Welch (c.1860 - 21 August 1936) was a schoolmaster and local politician in the Chelsea area. For 37 years he he was headmaster of Christ Church School, Chelsea, retiring in 1921. He was a member of Chelsea Borough Council from its creation in 1900 until his death, firstly as a councillor and latterly as an alderman. He was Mayor of Chelsea for three consecutive terms in 1911-14. He died at his home in Balham in 1936, aged 76.
