  • The Dorvain General Election, 1927 was held on the 27th May 1927 to elect the 32nd Parliament of the Commonwealth of Dorvain. Each of the 125 parliamentary constituencies elected one Member of Parliament to Parliament. The election resulted in the nation's first ever hung-parliament with no party managing to reach a majority. Harry Ford's Royalists remained the largest party, but were now short of a majority. The Liberals now under Harvey Jameson continued to grow in momentum, mostly taking seats off the Royalists but having luck with disgruntled Democrats too. The Democrats continued their spiral into decline loosing a further five seats from the previous election, whilst the Socialists made a minor gain of two seats. Austerity under the Royalists had reached extremes not seen since the 19th century. The Liberals campaigned they would reverse a great deal of austerity whilst not going as overboard as the Democrats. The Democrats were still hampered by the Socialists, which were taking numerous seats off them. No stable government could be formed, so Ford lead the Royalists as a minority government for under a year before another election was called.
