  • Frederick Leigh Leigh-Pollitt (1881-1956) was a businessman and politician. Born in Lancashire as Frederick Leigh Pollitt, he went into business as a wholesale jeweller in Manchester. By 1926 he was living in Sydenham in south east London. He was elected to the London County Council in October 1926 to fill a casual vacancy at Lewisham West as a Municipal Reform Party councillor. He held the seat until 1937. In 1933 he changed his name by deed poll to Leigh-Pollitt.
