When Ren, Ila, and Al were all little kids, they witnessed the capture of a rouge Military soldier. That soldier was captured by Colonel Aeron Mustang(What he said:"A better colonel than my dad"). Before the colonel and his soldiers could take the rouge soldier away, his handcuffs got loose, he escaped, grabbed Ren, and ran off. When Ren tried to scream out to the others, he actually realized the rouge soldier was actually his dad, Ed Elric. Ed told Ren:" Lt. colonel Lee tried to perform human transmutation to bring back his big brother. I don't want you doing the same thing if Al or Ila die. Or else, you'll... end up either blind, or having to get an automail arm, like myself." After a couple hours of explaining to Ren, Ed ran off, and Ren went back home to his worried Mom, brother, and little sister. Now, when Ren Al and Ila are all 14, 14, and 13, Al finds the same armor that his uncle's soul was put in. When Al examines it, it just suddenly stands up! The armor actually says," Um.. excuse me, do you know the quickest way to amestris? " It was actually Al's uncle Alphonse... from the past! great... another Alphonse... So, Ren Ila Al and Alphonse headed of to become official alchemists. When they all get on the train that's headed to the military base in the Desert Area, they run into colonel Aeron Mustang, again...
